I just finished the last episode of my fav show: Elementaryā¦
Iām going to rant a little bit about Elementary and this episode rn so *spoiler alert * in case u r watching it or planning to do so
(edit: I think you can watch it on Amazon Prime.. And Iām sorry for editing this every time it pops up on my notifications lmaooo but I have so much to say jsjdjw)
Iām speechless. After 7 years, the show is over.
I remember how excited I was about the pilot and how much I enjoyed it.
Every season was incredible and had the perfect amount of little emotional bits that helped build the wonderful atmosphere of the show.
I mean, Sherlock discovered a bee species??? and called it āEuglassia Watsoniaā?????? After Joan????? My dude got in love so fast lmao
Sherlock and Watsonās chemistry was beautifully designed! The way their relationship develops feels natural and is accompanied by the growth of both.
I can see how that gender swap thing they did with Watsonās character could get some people upset, it really looked like āan easy way to make them fall in love with each otherā
Robert Wolf, one of the writers, said:
ā(ā¦) the decision to keep Sherlock and Joan platonic was Rob Dohertyās from the very start.ā
So if you get pass that idea and give the show a chance, youāll see that what they gave us was really different āØ
We received a (really) slow burn that gave us a chance to see how the relationship grew, how they grew. No need for awkward kisses or sex between the two main characters. (As we know those are not the only ways people use to show love and affection and Iām glad the showrunners didnāt force us to watch that lol)
Every meal together, the sleepless nights, the meaningful looks and even the fights were important to what their relationship morphed into.
(donāt get me started on Sherlock waking up Watson and choosing her clothes??? Please??? Thatās so damn cute????)
We had two beings that, in the end, loved each other and would die for the other. Thatās not basically the soul of the books?
Heck, thereās one scene in where *ex* captain Gregson talks to Sherlock and tells him that Joan was obviously the only person he loved, I mean aaaaaa
Even Sherlock told Watson that they were two people in love??? I need a bigger font!!!!!!
Luckily, to finish with the show, we didnāt receive a kiss and screen fading to black, we received the theme song of the show with them walking to the captainās office, ready to work again as a team.
As partners, after all they went through š
Iām just thankful for this show and their writers, whom delivered a wonderful story of love, companionship and devotion without needing to push the characters to places they wouldnāt fit.
Because Sherlock and Watson do not need to kiss for the world to understand that they love each other, obviously.
Idk Iām soft, I miss them and my english is terrible so āØgoodjbye⨠sjdksk
